Mobile Phone Review Blackberry Pearl 3G – Can BlackBerry up their ‘A’ Game?

The web browser is much better than we have seen on earlier models and it works quite efficiently. The e-mail client is, as you would expect, excellent and pretty much the best we’ve known in a smartphone. BlackBerry’s aren’t usually the most media-ready, but the Pearl features a decent music player and a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you don’t have to use the ones that come with the phone.

It also has a camera, but at 3.2MP it’s nothing you’re going to write home about, although it has autofocus and is capable of video recording. As business users will know, the BlackBerry features a great organiser system, and the messaging capabilities are great too. Out-competing many smartphones on the market is it’s battery life, though not amazing you can get over a day out of it without charging.

The first thing we should mention is that it is a BlackBerry, therefore new users may be unfamiliar with what to expect and be let down as a result. It should be noted however that one of the main reasons BlackBerry’s gained such popularity was their inclusion of the full QWERTY keyboard that felt amazing in the hand.

Unfortunately though, in a bizarre twist, the makers have created the Pearl with an alphanumeric keyboard, something we definitely don’t like and will even put die-hard BlackBerry fans off. Despite the assets this phone has we still feel it is lacking in the technological advances smartphones have developed in the past year.

It is a distinctly average phone that won’t convert users from their beloved iPhone’s, Google and Windows models. A Blackberry without a full keyboard is like a Blackberry bush without fruit. Despite the absence of their trademark, we do appreciate the Pearl for its functionality, the fact that it is compact and attractive, and the other BlackBerry attributes.

And if you like browsing, if you search the Internet for deals, you can find mobile phone free PS3 along with cashback deals. These deals are great if you're on tight budget as they offer you affordable monthly pay depending on your preferences of course.
