Over the past few years RIM have released BlackBerry handset after BlackBerry handset to cheers and applause from the masses, but with the new wave of smartphone dominating the market we’ve lost our love of BlackBerry and await a release that proves RIM can hold their own against the big boys currently on the up rise.
As a smaller alternative to the popular Bold model, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes packet full of great features, but does it come with enough features to take on the current kings of the smartphone universe? The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is deemed to be the ultimate in BlackBerry technology, blowing away their previous releases with it’s new features.
Of course the trademark QWERTY keyboard is present, but BlackBerry have included a trackball to improve ease of use on the 8900 model. The keyboard keys are a bit on the small side, however unless you have really large fingers you shouldn’t have a problem using it. When we first looked at the Curve 8900 we were surprised that the handset is aesthetically almost identical to the Bold, however it is much smaller and lighter.
As a result, we feel much more comfortable having the Curve 8900 in our pocket. It is a solid, well-made piece of tech that seems as though it will stand up to any knock or scratches it may ensure during it’s service. The screen is a bright 2.44 inches and complete with a resolution of 480x360, making it the perfect handset for viewing images, watching videos and browsing the web.
The menus are incredibly easy to navigate and the interface is the best a BlackBerry handset has had to offer to date. The main selling point of a BlackBerry handset is usually it’s out of the office capabilities, which are all incredibly functional on the Curve 8900.
